Bachelor of Business Administration

INTRODUCTION

The whole duration of the program is 3 years and the students are aworded a American Heritage University Bechelor Degree in Business Administration.

 

COURSE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

First Year

  1. Business Environment
    • This module covers issues that refer to the interaction between the organizations and the environment they interact with, with a special accent on the regional and EU environment. This module also assists the students in the understanding of the context in which the organizations function.
  2. Managing Information Technology
    • The module’s primary aim is to broaden student’s knowledge and skills in the use of IT in managing and analysing data for business to improve the quality of decision-making in a dynamic environment.
  3. Business Communications
    • Main focal point of this area of study is the manager’s role of effective usage of the Information and Communication methods of “talking to textual messages”. Also, students are being taught how to organize meetings out of which everyone will give their maximum.
  4. Statistics in Business
    • This module develops students’ capability to handle the numerical and quantitative issues that arise in the business. The students will be able to use statistical, graphical and algebraic techniques in order to approach to the business problems with adequate IT software, wherever it is relevant. Precise assessment of numerical results, with or without usage of IT, will enable efficient business decisions.
  5. Business Management
    • This module is concerned with the management of your own skills and your development, in order to reach the goals for your own personal advancement and promotion. The development of effective labor relations that enable the business people to handle different situations, including the conflict ones, is also a prime area of study in this module.
  6. Business Accounting
    • This area of study covers the planning, the management and the analysis of the usage of physical and financial resources in the relevant business activity. The supply of up-to-date information to the decision makers, in order to have easier and more efficient resource planning, is also important issue within this module.

Second Year

  1. Strategic Management
    • The syllabus is related to the allocation and the assessment of the individual and the team performance in relation to the achievement of the previously set organizational goals. The management of remote workers, as well as discussion of issues that arise from the job performance of certain team in an organization,  is also included within this module.
  2. Managerial Accounting
    • From this module, the students will gain knowledge of how to manage finances in a business environment. The management with the turnover capital in the business, as well as the budgetary control and the cost techniques are also focal points of this module. Also included are some statistical techniques, which are put in function of the financial analysis.
  3. Human Resources Management
    • This module is related to the identification, planning, implementation, realization, assessment and receiving feedback for the development of the team/individual, in order to have continuous improvement in the overall work performance. .
  4. Marketing
    • This module is concerned with the managers’ need to put the customer in the focus of the attention, to identify investors’ demands, as well as the planning of how to adjust those needs with the organizational limitations. The e-commerce and it’s implications on the management process is also an important part of the syllabus of this module.
  5. Business Law
    • The students are taught how the EU membership influenced the economic policy of the Government of the UK, the trade between the EU member states and the trading possibilities of the UK enterprises in the EU, as well as the ways his can be assessed.
  6. Financial Management
    • Preparation of financial analysis for different types of business enterprises, and the making of adequate adjustments of those analyses, is one of the areas that this module covers. Students are also taught about the detailed legal and regulatory provisions that refer to the financial auditing, as well as the ways the relevant accounting principles can be implemented. The basic principles of preparation of group auditing reports are also included in the syllabus. After finishing this module, students are ready to prepare financial reports for different business enterprises.

Third Year

  1. Computer Networks
    • This is an introductory course on computer network architecture. The function of communication protocol for each layer is discussed. Examples of long-haul, local area network and high speed networks are shown for designing and implementing computer networks, protocols, and network applications.
  2. Risk Management
    • This course deals with the understanding of risk and how risks are inherent in business. Discussions and case studies will cover major components of the risk management process: identifying source of risk, analyzing and assessing risk, responding to risk, contingency planning and establishing contingency reserves. Special emphasis is given on risk mitigation planning to prepare managers for any unforeseen situations related to financial, marketing, technical, human relations and public relations.
  3. Corporate Finance
    • The course begins with principles of finance and moves toward topics such as leasing, mergers, and multinational finance. The theories of finance are applied to investment instruments, including stocks, bonds, options, and future markets. Capital budgeting cost of capital, valuation, and risk are also studied; valuation and risk are also studied at an advancement level of analysis.
  4. Leadership and Ethics
    • The focus in this course is on clarifying the distinction between management and leadership by examination of difference models of leadership and the integration of Judeo-Christian ethical principles into various functional topics.
  5. Organizational Psychology
    • This course is an introduction to organizational psychology and behavior. Through a combination of theories, case studies, and overall hands on approach to study, it will be the goal of the class to acquaint the students with the behavior related to organizations through the study of related topics. Key topics include but are not limited to, effective communication, motivation, leadership, conflict, human resources, and how to deal with stress in the workplace.
  6. Business Ethics
    • The primary purpose of this course is to expose students to the many ethical issues that pervade today's business environment. The course also introduces students to ethics from a broader perspective. Finally, the course requires that students focus on improving themselves and/or improving their manner of living.
  7. Computer Applications
    • Theoretical, applied, and organizational issues for large, complex database management systems including physical database design, architecture considerations, emerging database technologies, and advanced applications.
  8. International Finance
    • This course presents the basics of international finance in a concentrated integrated experience focusing on policy and business applications, as well as covering theoretical frameworks. This course is designed to challenge students to think about exchange of goods, services and financial capital in a systematic and structured way. It is designed to provide them with tools to better understand how the differences between countries can provide opportunities for national growth and development in a cooperative environment, yet can also lead to economic (and political) conflict.
  9. Operations Management
    • The course focuses on how an enterprise matches supply with demand. Students will learn how to assess the optimum level of supply flexibility for a given industry and explore the strategies for increasing a firm's supply flexibility. The material covers the basics of supply chain management, economics of supply and demand, market environment and customer psychology, logistics of supply management, supply chain management as a competitive edge, and future trend of supply chain management.
  10. Management
    • In this course, a survey of history of management and review of significant management literature is introduced. Application of management theories to practical problems in planning, organizing, and controlling business activity is studied. The course develops the skills and knowledge requirements demanded in today's competitive business environment.
